Today's sentiment:

Here's to old, here's to new.
You may know me, I may know you.
But, for some we've never met,
It's a meeting you won't forget.

A-4's, they say, are Tinker Toys.
They say they're made for little boys.
But, alas, we no longer qualify
For our asses no longer will comply.

So, let's resolve to return and repeat
To gather, do business, drink and eat.
Be you civilian Navy or Marine
Together forever, there is no between.

YOU can help!

There are 42 Fisher Houses across the country (and 15 more in the works)-all located close to military hospitals. Fisher Houses provide needed shelter for families of those service members who have been injured and are receiving treatment at military facilities. The Fisher House Foundation does much more than provide housing, however. The "hero miles" program uses donated frequent-flier miles to fly loved ones to far away hospitals so that severely injured service members can receive vital emotional support from family members. Donors can also purchase gift cards for families to use at military PXs around the world.

U.S.S. Midway - Ready Room #3 (Light Attack Ready Room)
This Ready Room is being designed to perpetuate the story of the A4 aircraft and it's place in US naval history with an emphasis on combat operations during the Vietnam war. We have a sign at the front of the room that I think says it all - "This room is dedicated to all the Navy and Marine Corps Light Attack aviators who flew their aircraft into harms way - and the support officers and enlisted personnel who made those flights possible - All gave some, Some gave all".
The Midway, thus far, has realized over 1 million visitors annually.
For material support, we need the following displayable items: hardhats; flight suits, g-suits, survival vest/suits, inflation vest, kneeboards, A-4 ejection seat, control stick, gunsight. Ownership of these items would remain with the donor and they would be returned if desired.

The chair covers in the "Light Attack Ready Room" aboard the USS Midway are a unique and lasting way of remembering a lost Shipmate or to recognize your old unit. You have the option of putting one there with your name & unit, as a representation of your entire unit or in memorial to a lost shipmate. This Midway Ready Room represents the entire Light Attack Community.
