TA-4J

• The TA-4J was conceived as a low cost trainer. Some TA-4Fs were converted to the TA-4J configuration for the training mission.


• The TA-4J differed from the TA-4F through the removal of the tactical weapons system and aerial tanker components, and the installation of a different engine - the lower cost Pratt Whitney J65-P6A .


• Like the TA-4F, it had nose wheel steering.


• Like the TA-4F, it had the down-sized fuselage fuel tank, 670 gallons.
